Pina Colada Smoothie

This post is written in partnership with The Quaker Oats Company. All opinions are my own!

Serve up this nutritious Pina Colada Smoothie to cool down this summer! It’s got the classic flavor of your favorite summer drink, with fiber from oats.

It’s SMOOTHIE SEASON! I have to admit: I don’t make smoothies as much as I used to. Remember the days of Instagram when everyone ate a thick smoothie bowl for breakfast? Yep, I was totally swept up in that trend!

I think I needed a little break from smoothies after having one every single day, but I’m ready to start making them again. Especially since it has gotten up to 95 DEGREES here. Give me all the refreshments, please.

That leads me to this Pina Colada Smoothie that I whipped up one particularly hot day (side note: we don’t have central A/C in our apartment, which is still crazy to this Louisiana native).

I am so, so happy to announce that I will be working with Quaker (yes, THE Quaker) this year to bring you some delicious recipes made with oats! If you’ve been an Emilie Eats reader for some time, you probably notice how often I use oats in my recipes—they’re nutritious and SO versatile.

I bet you didn’t think oats could belong in a smoothie. Friend (and I say this with love)… you’re wrong about that!

Pina Colada Smoothie Recipe — Made with Oats!

Of course, this smoothie features juicy pineapple and creamy coconut milk. Classic! We’re also adding some non-traditional ingredients to this pina colada smoothie recipe.

First up: oats! Adding oats to your smoothies this summer can give them a thick, rich texture. Each serving of this pina colada smoothie features 1/2 cup of Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats, which provides 4 grams of fiber. Y’all KNOW how much I love fiber..

Next ingredient: ground turmeric! We’re adding turmeric for that bright yellow color—the color of summer!

Finally: vanilla protein powder! This isn’t something you’d find in a typical pina colada, but we’re adding some plant protein to make this smoothie more filling and satisfying. Feel free to leave it out if you wish!

I enjoy topping this pina colada smoothie with unsweetened shredded coconut, seeds of any kind, and of course some extra Quaker Old Fashioned Oats!
